iZotope Labs

iZotope Labs (iZo Labs) is an experimental initiative that exists firmly in the space between beta and launch. It was created as a method to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new DSP and business opportunities. I led design efforts for some projects under iZo Labs and contributed to others.

Morph One

I contributed to the design of Morph One, a groundbreaking new way to transform audio using trained AI models.

Complex sounds, simple design

Morph One’s powerful AI models only required a few basic inputs to get great results. I was able to design a minimal interface with some bare bones controls, and let the sound speak for itself.

Mastering Lab

I led the design of Mastering Lab. A drag and drop experience for mastering on the web. Powered by Ozone’s award winning tech.

Drag, drop, release.

One of the main goals for Mastering Lab was to get users to a release-ready product as quickly as possible. No controls, no extra fluff, just output.

Going off script

Experiments don’t always go as planned. And sometimes they don’t go at all! iZo Mastering Lab presented me with a unique opportunity to design fun error screens I was almost certain our users would eventually come across.

Experimenting with feedback and creative input

I gave users the power to describe their creative intent with open ended text fields to see if any themes or directions emerged. Once the data was in, I refined the commonly discussed topics into formal controls.
